本片根据蟠龙梆子传统戏《墙头记》改编，由六位九至十岁的蟠龙梆子学员主演，以儿童视角讲述张木匠与两个儿子之间的故事，教育人们不要忘记父母的养育之恩，以孝为先。旨在传承发扬中华民族传统美德，弘扬戏曲文化。
